Democrats of Greater Irvine are out in Irvine with door hangers which urge a vote on Ranked Choice Voting and endorse Liu, Martinez-Franco, Treseder and others. In addition to being poorly designed and way too wordy, they don’t explain to voters why their endorsements should be listened to. DGI is not in line with the views of mainstream Democrats and by advocating for Ranked Choice Voting show that their endorsements should be viewed skeptically. Irvine City News has endorsed a NO vote on Irvine Measure D and Scotty Hong for District 6 City Council. If you receive a leaflet from DGI, ask them why Ranked Choice Voting makes any sense given the cost, complexity, and lack of need in Irvine. After they mumble for a few minutes about their distorted view of democracy, just walk away and vote NO on Measure D.
