Irvine City Council Agenda Watch:
Tuesday is a big meeting for City Council agendized memos:
First, Betty Martinez Franco continues her broadening of Irvine's entitlement programs by discussing a study on potential low-income solid waste rate assistance program. Councilmember Martinez Franco seems to be constantly suggesting new ways to spend Irvine Taxpayer money.
Second, and appropriately following Martinez Franco's every two weeks of tax spending, Councilmember Mai has a discussion of Irvine's fiscal status and immediate cost controls. ICN commends Mai for not sweeping the years of overspending under former City Manager Oliver Chi under the rug.
Finally, three candidates for re-election in November, Treseder, Martinez Franco, and Liu are suggesting manipulating Irvine's elections by studying the adoption of ranked choice voting. Fearing their inability to keep their Council seats, these three are looking for ways to change Irvine's elections to confuse voters into electing their second choices.
Check back to see how each Councilmember (and Candidate) votes.,
